February is National Children’s Dental Health Month!
Talk to your kids about the importance of proper brushing, flossing, avoiding too many sweets and getting their teeth polished and checked.
Children love being just like mom and dad. Often, they will copy what they see and grow up having the same values. If you value your teeth and great dental care, they will too!
Many times, they will not tell you if they have a problem until the problem is too far along. Listen to your kids. Any sensitivity may be as normal as a tooth naturally coming in or going out, or it can be a cavity or a tooth reacting to being bumped in the past.
Your family is important to us. Celebrate the opportunities for great dental care. Let us help you improve your family’s dental health.
Some family activities may be:
Make a list of dental healthy snacks that you can buy
Make fun treats that are healthy
Brush your teeth as a family
Have a fun way to time their brushing for the recommended 2 or 3 minutes
Read a children’s book, with your child, about healthy teeth
Bring young ones to your next dental visit so they can get to know the Staff, Dr. and environment
Make donations to places in need of care products and include dental care items
If you have any great ideas that your family loves, we would love to hear them!
Have a great month!
