What is a Complete Denture? What is a Partial Denture?

A complete denture, otherwise known as fake teeth or a plate, is a removable dental appliance used to replace missing teeth and surrounding tissue.  They are made to closely resemble your teeth and may even enhance your smile.

A partial denture, or partial, is a set of teeth that replaces any missing teeth in an arch.  The remaining teeth are used to hold in the partial.

Why do I need a denture or partial?

Dentures:

  • Enhances smile

  • Help you to chew

  • Supports facial features from drooping or sagging

Partials:

  • Maintain tooth position and keep them from shifting out of place

  • Offer strength for chewing

  • May be more economical by replacing many teeth with one appliance vs. individual replacements

Proper dentures or partials can be life-changing.

We understand that having any type of dental appliance placed is a big investment in time and money on your part and can stop people from moving forward.  People put the decision off and live with discomfort and embarrassment.  We want you to be completely happy with the outcome.  With proper care your new appliance will last for many years.

We also understand that dental appliances are a process.  There are many visits spaced out over several weeks to create and adjust the dentures so they fit comfortably and look natural.  This is why our package includes all fitting and adjustment visits.  We truly want our patients to be able to afford the quality of life that a great fitting and looking dental appliance can provide.
